A use for the spaie station room that I thought had died out is a base for a local modle railway club. Well John Yellowlees at ScotRail tells me

'The half-dozen model railway clubs with a presence on ScotRail stations took part in this year's 50th anniversary Model Rail Scotland exhibition at Glasgow's SECC. Here is the layout of the Kyle Model Railway Club who are based at Irvine Station.'

Do we have many more clubs about?

The station at Little walsingham is a muesum to Iconography run by the Seraphim Trust. The museum also has a small collection of railway artifacts going back to it's GER days.  :http://iconpainter.org.uk/about/
